LATEST ON COVID
As in prior seasons, the league will need to be in compliance with RBUSD and the city of Redondo, as we use their fields. Further, the league will need to be in compliance with LA County’s youth sports guidelines when we begin to take the field.
For reference, the fall is soccer season in Redondo Beach, currently Region 34 of AYSO soccer is adhering to the current county guidelines regarding vaccination and testing. At this time, if your player is 12 or older, he/she must show proof of vaccination or receive weekly COVID tests that must be provided to the league. (At this time there are no testing/vaccination protocols for youth under 12.) Due to the testing expectation, Regions 17 (North Redondo) and 34 (South Redondo) have an agreement with a community partner to provide testing for players in need. The community partner sets up a testing site one to two times each week and provides free testing and results.
If the regulations remain the same come time for Spring baseball and softball season, Redondo Sunset will work to make a similar arrangement.
As with everything COVID, protocols and mandates for youth sports handed down by LA County change based on the county’s response to the pandemic.
